24 Aug 2009 : Finchley 1stXl win their Middlesex Cup Semi Final V Stanmore by 15 Runs

18 Aug 2009 : 1stXl Win Middlesex T20 Competition
The 1stXl became Middlesex T20 Champions for the 2nd time in 3 years on Sunday,and won their 2nd trophy for the season after beating Winchmore Hill in the semi-final and beating Teddington in the final to claim the trophy. Next up is a regional finals day where we will take on the champions from Kent, Surrey and Essex to get to the National Final in September

The 1stXl had a comprehensive win in the inaugural Conference Cup Final, the replacement for the Evening Standard Challenge Trophy, on Sunday 9th August at Shenley Cricket Centre.

Finchley 1st X1 are at home on Sunday 28th June to Hampstead Cricket Club in the Area Final of the ECB National Cup. Hampstead are very much our local rivals and the match promises to be very competitive as the winners will go into the draw for the last 16 of the ECB National Knock-out competition. Come along and watch the match which starts at 1pm and enjoy the complimentary Barbecue from 6.30pm onwards. Finchley U11s beat Hampstead in the area cup final in a thrilling match. Hampstead 104-8 after 20 overs. Finchley 108-6 after 19.3 overs. An outstanding performance from Finchley against a very strong Hampstead side. They now progress to the county semi-finals to play the winners of the north area cup final. Watch this space for date and venue - come along and support them! Congratulations to Beth Morgan (Gunnersbury WCC, Middlesex and England) on playing a major part in the Success of the England Womens Twenty20 World Cup win! In the semi-finals she put on 46 off 34 to get them through (needing a massive run chase) to the final on Sunday. SENIOR PLAYERS - club kit is now available - shirts, caps, training tops, track pants are all available at training.

Finchley 1st team take on newly- promoted Richmond at home on Saturday, looking for their 4th win in 5 games. On Sunday, we take on Stanmore in the ECB National Cup- again at Arden Field. Stanmore narrowly avoided defeat in last weekends league encounter at The Common. The bar will be open from 12pm both days and your support is welcome. Congratulations to Finchley spinner Sunil Tailor who makes his first- class debut for Middlesex this week versus Cardiff UCCE- also to new recruit Sam Robson who is looking to establish himself at the top of the Middlesex 1st team batting order. SENIOR PLAYERS- club kit is now available- shirts, caps, training tops, track pants are all available at training.

The first team 2020 game vs Barnet B’s tomorrow - 6pm start. Last year we were county finalists in this competition and the year before we were south east champions. The U11, U13 and U15 are all top of their leagues at the end of May. All 3 Saturday league sides won this weekend with the 1st team demolishing Brondesbury by 155 runs.
